Wall Heating – Installation in a Few Simple Steps
Instruction
Delivery and Unloading of Panels
Unloading takes place using a forklift or by two people placing the panels on an even, dry, and flat surface using panel carrying handles.
Surface Preparation
The surfaces of walls/ceilings in modernized rooms should be prepared in a way that allows the use of the installation system. The rooms should ultimately be clean, without obstructive elements.
Leveling/Measurement
To fit the panel’s dimensions, find the lowest point of the floor along the modernized walls and mark it, using a laser level, 1 meter high on the wall. Then measure the height of the ceiling (possibly the curvature of the ceiling). To achieve a distance of 1 cm above the floor, use the pads provided with the panels. Each panel is marked with a dimension line allowing the panel to be adjusted to the floor’s unevenness and ceiling height. Before installing each panel, measure and trim the edges so that the marked line of one meter on the panel aligns with the marking on the wall, taking into account the clearances from the floor and ceiling.
Window, Supplementary, and Door Panels
They have additional zones for cutting (see drawing on the panel).
Pipe connections must remain at the same height to maintain the possibility of hydraulic connection.
Panels should be measured and cut according to the calculated dimensions and in the marked cutting zones before starting the installation.
Wall Preparation
Drilling and screwing the mounting discs according to the drawings on the panel surfaces. The discs should be leveled to create one even surface for attaching the panels.
A minimum distance of 15 mm must be maintained between the existing wall/ceiling and the TermaVIDA panel.
Tools Required for Installation:
- handles for safe panel transport,
- drill/screwdriver,
- T25 Torx bit,
- drill bits of 5 and 10 mm,
- cross/level/angle laser,
- compass/tape measure for marking
- hand saw/hacksaw/utility knife
Mounting kit containing: - mounting discs,
- M8 mounting screws ø 6.5, class 8.8 universal*,
- sleeves L 50 ø 10 BX (with an outer diameter of 10 mm and length L = 50 mm) in a quantity of 21 pieces,
- 84 sheet screws – the entire set.
Starting the Installation
We start from the corner. The leveled, distanced corner panel is screwed to the discs in the designated places.
Hydraulic Connections
You can use the existing radiator connections or bring a new central heating installation to connect the panel zones.
If using an existing central heating installation, it must be properly prepared (e.g., cleaning, flushing).
Lubrication is required for each connection. Aerosol grease should be used for Hep20 fittings to ensure compliance with installation regulations and maintain tightness with other materials at the joints. Do not use any lubricants from other manufacturers or alternative means.
Panel Connection
Before connecting the panels, a layer of sanitary silicone should be applied along the entire length of the connected surfaces of the PIR boards – on the side edge of the panel according to the drawing. The ends of the cables should be tied together in the cable passages for easy routing of electrical wires.
Panel Connection cont.
Hydraulic connections of the panels at the central heating connection points are supplemented with 22 mm diameter pipe inserts between successive panels according to the drawing.
Press the panel, leaving a gap of 3-4 mm between the boards. In the first or last heating panel, insert threaded plugs/connectors: supply – return to close the circuit and connect to the new/existing central heating system.
Leak Test
For central heating installations. During Hep2O installation tests, it is recommended to use a pressure 1.5 times higher than the working pressure. The recommended duration of the main test should be 120 minutes.
Wall Completion
Closing the entire construction, we insert a supplementary panel that seals the wall tightly – it can be cut to any height and width.
Start-up and Hydraulic Adjustment of the Installation
Remembering the operating temperature limit of +50°C, the panels should be protected by using mixing fittings in the central heating installation, such as thermostatic mixing valves. After performing the leak test, proceed to fill and vent the installation. Filling should be carried out using a filling/charging unit (vacuum pump). If a filling station is not available, regulation can be achieved using valves installed at the ends of the panel system. After filling and venting, temperature regulation must be performed to obtain an even temperature distribution. This involves using thermostatic mixing valves to adjust the water flow to individual panels with the help of a thermal imaging camera. The camera will indicate areas with hot spots. A pistol thermometer can also be used during temperature measurement of the panels.
Panel Connection Finishing
The 3-4 mm gap left between the panels during installation is filled with low-expansion mounting foam. After the mounting foam has hardened, standard finishing of joints and surfaces can be done as for drywall panels.
The TermaVida® Low-Temperature Heating Panel System does not require the use of special paints and plasters.
